Your agreement with us
These Terms govern Word Scrapes, wordscrapes.com, and related game services operated by Things People Love, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By using these services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information. Our Cookie Policy explains website cookies and similar technologies.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use these services. If you are below the age of majority where you live, you need permission from a parent or legal guardian. Word Scrapes is not intended for children under 13.
Some play is available as a guest. Connected features may require a game account, platform account, or internet access. Provide accurate account information, keep access secure, and contact support if you suspect unauthorized use.
Guest saves and offline progress can depend on your device. Removing app data, losing a device, or uninstalling the game can affect access to local progress. Available cloud and restore features have their own requirements.
Your license to play
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use Word Scrapes for personal, non-commercial enjoyment.
The game, software, characters, artwork, logos, animations, audio, text, and other content belong to Things People Love or our licensors. The license does not transfer ownership. Do not copy, sell, redistribute, or create derivative works from our content without permission except where the law permits it.
Official press materials may be used for truthful editorial, review, commentary, or promotional coverage of Word Scrapes. Do not imply endorsement or alter them in misleading ways.
Fair play and acceptable use
Do not cheat, automate gameplay, exploit bugs, manipulate scores, purchases, or rewards, or use unauthorized tools to gain an unfair advantage. Do not attempt to access other accounts, bypass security or payment controls, disrupt services, distribute malware, impersonate others, harass people, or violate intellectual-property or privacy rights.
We may investigate abuse, correct improperly granted rewards, and restrict accounts or access where necessary to protect the game and players, subject to applicable law.
Purchases, subscriptions, and rewards
Available paid features may include virtual currency, items, unlocks, and subscriptions. Pricing, included benefits, renewal terms, and cancellation information are presented at purchase. App-store payment, refund, subscription, and cancellation rules also apply.
Subscriptions may renew automatically as disclosed at purchase. Manage or cancel them through the store where you subscribed. Deleting your game account or uninstalling the app does not automatically cancel a subscription. See Apple's cancellation instructions or Google Play's cancellation instructions.
Virtual items and currency are licensed for use in the game, have no cash value, and cannot be redeemed for money or transferred outside authorized game features. Purchase and restore access may require platform verification. Rewarded-ad grants, where offered, depend on successful completion and verification. A failed or interrupted request does not guarantee a reward.
Payments may be non-refundable except where applicable law or store terms provide otherwise. Nothing here removes your mandatory consumer rights. Account deletion does not itself issue a refund.
Feedback and community content
If you send feedback, ideas, bug reports, or other content, make sure you have the right to share it and avoid sending confidential material without a separate agreement. You retain ownership of your content and grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, adapt, and share it as needed to operate, improve, and develop our services.
We may use feedback and suggestions without payment or credit unless agreed otherwise. Community platforms have their own rules. Do not publish private information or unlawful, abusive, misleading, or infringing content.
Changes, availability, and previews
We may update game content, balance, features, or availability. Services may be interrupted or discontinued. We will respect applicable law and any required notice or rights relating to paid content.
Betas, demos, and playtests can be incomplete, contain bugs, lose progress, or change before release. Any separately agreed confidentiality rules apply to those experiences.
Third-party services, including Apple, Google, and app stores, operate under their own terms. Platform terms may control your use of those platforms.
Stopping play and deleting an account
You can stop playing at any time and request account deletion through our Account Deletion page. The page explains verification, the information affected, retention exceptions, and subscriptions.
We may suspend or terminate access for violations, legal requirements, risks to others or our services, or discontinuation of a service. Provisions that logically continue, including intellectual property, applicable liability limits, and dispute provisions, survive termination.
Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, services are provided "as is" and "as available," without guarantees of uninterrupted or error-free operation. We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to that extent.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Things People Love and its personnel, licensors, and service providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for a claim relating to these services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the services giving rise to the claim in the preceding 12 months or US $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions or limits. They apply only where lawful and do not exclude liability or consumer protections that cannot legally be excluded.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Texas law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. State and federal courts located in Collin County, Texas have jurisdiction unless applicable law requires otherwise. Mandatory protections available where you live remain unaffected.
Before filing a claim, contact legal@thingspeople.love with your contact details, a description of the dispute, and the resolution you seek. We will try to resolve it informally within 30 days. This does not prevent you from exercising rights that cannot be restricted by agreement.
Updates and contact
We may revise these Terms and will update the date above. We will provide additional notice of material changes where appropriate or required. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
These Terms and any applicable additional terms form our agreement for these services. You may not transfer this agreement without our written permission; we may transfer it as part of a lawful business transfer, subject to your applicable rights.
